Have you ever seen a sign that says “If
you can read this – thank a teacher.” I have had teachers that
have taught me and I have been a teacher in that I have taught
others. Today is National Teacher Day a day to be thankful for
teachers.

No Diet Day
Today is No Diet Day so I'll use today
to be thankful for diets. Basically a diet is what you eat but it
also carries with it the idea of not eating or at least cutting back
on what you eat to lose weight. My diet consists of a variety of
things my wife makes for me and for that I am thankful. I am also in
the act of trying to lose weight and I am having some success and for
that I am also thankful for. How about you?

Cartoonists Day
Every morning, one of the first things
I do after crawling out of bed and forcing my eyes to an open
position is go on-line and read my favorite comics. In the evenings,
my kids like to gather around the computer from time to time to
watch cartoons. Both are drawn by cartoonists and I think most of us
enjoy some sort of cartoon or comic at sometime or another as they
are often designed to make us laugh and feel good. Let's be thankful
for these people.

Space Day
Here's a day to be thankful for what
we find between our ears, space. Not! There is much more than space
between our ears but we are surrounded by space – often called
outer space, the place that holds the sun, planet, starts and more.
It is amazing what we can see there and for that we can be thankful.

Bats Day
Has any one ever tole you, you have
bats in your belfry? Today is Bats Day, a day we can use to be
thankful for bats. Yes bats may seem ugly to us and often times are
given a bad reputation, they are wonderful creatures that help keep
down mosquito populations and around our place in the summer there
are usually plenty of those.

National Day Of Prayer
Today is the National Day Of Prayer
and while there are so many things that we can be praying for, let's
use this day as a reminder that we can pray and that prayer can make
a difference and let us be thankful for prayer and God who hears and
answers prayer.

Mother Goose Day
Today is Mother Goose Day. When we
think of Mother Goose we usually think of collections of fairy tales
and nursery rhymes. Sometimes Mother goose is an elderly lady and
sometimes a goose in a bonnet. Our kids have all enjoyed fairy tales
and nursery rhymes. Our oldest got a book when she was little that
was full of nursery rhymes and we recently replaced the book and now
our youngest thoroughly enjoys it. Today let's be thankful for
nursery rhymes.
