When his first story, Cecily G. and the Nine Monkeys was published in France in 1939, he was named Fifi but we know him better as George, Curious George, the little brown monkey that lives with the man with a yellow hat. Written by Hans Augusto Rey and Margret Rey, the books feature the adventures of George and the troubles that come from being a little over curious.
It is often said that curiosity killed the cat, and while curiosity has and still does lead to all kinds of trouble, can you imagine what life would be like if no one had ever been curious? Think of some of the great scientists and inventors and where we would be today had their curiosities never been aroused. One thing's for sure, I wouldn't be sitting here blogging.
Dear Lord, Thank you
- For our curiosity / our desire to learn
- For the many blessings that have come about because of the curiosity of others
