Until 1971, both February 12 and February 22 were observed as federal public holidays to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (February 12) and George Washington (February 22). In 1971 President Richard Nixon proclaimed one single federal public holiday, the Presidents' Day, to be observed on the 3rd Monday of February, honoring all past presidents of the United States of America.
Over the years we've had many presidents, some great, some not so great, some we may like , some we may not like, and even one that I'm suppose to be related too. And while we have the privilege here in America to elect our presidents, ultimately it is God who is in control. Romans 13:1 - Obey the government, for God is the one who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. (TLB)
Dear Lord, Thank you
- For our presidents - liked or unliked
- For being in control
