Alexander Graham Bell was a Scotsman who came to the United States in 1871 and was a teacher of deaf in Boston. At night, he experimented with a harmonic telegraph, a device for sending several telegraph messages at once over one wire. In 1874 Bell developed the idea of the telephone and on On March 10, 1876, Bell finally succeeded in speaking words over a telephone.
Sitting a top my desk in the bedroom is a telephone - a land line telephone with cords attached and you can't go very far a before you run out of cord. In the other rooms in the house we have wireless phones, but they're still hooked up to the land line. And than somewhere else we do have a cell phone.
While they are not often used at our house, they do get used to communicate with the world..
Dear Lord, Thank you
- For telephones
