dangers associate with extreme heat. So let's use this day to be

Hole In My Bucket Day
I remember a song about a hole in my
bucket that needed to be fixed but it couldn't because there was a
hole in my bucket.... How many buckets do you have with holes in
them? All of them or you couldn't get anything in them.... Okay I'm
weird some days but none the less, buckets are something we use often
and something for which we can be thankful for.

Nothing Specific
I have nothing specific to post on today as my list has a blank spot but that doesn't mean there is nothing for which one can be thankful today.
Over the past weekend I have had many things to be thankful for including a safe trip, wonderful food, a friend who gave the kids motorcycle rides, two hours shopping with my wife and no kids, beautiful weather, a nap, new pants and the list goes on.
What things can you be thankful for from this past weekend?

Morse Code Day
Morse code can be tracked back to 1836
with the invention of a device to send signals. A code was needed so
Morse developed one and we still have Morse code around today to aid
in communication. While we have other devices today that are far
more complex, Morse code still has a place. Let's be thankful for
such ways of communication.

a violin, and some guitars and it is enjoyable to listen to all of
them so let's be thankful for musical instruments on this day.

I'm falling behind – job change and a
sick kid.
Today I'm parting from my list to be
thankful for friends. On Sunday afternoon we went to some friends
for a piano recital (their kids and ours) of my wife's students.
Afterwards they fed us hamburgers and steaks. It is wonderful to
have wonderful friends.

Cartoonists Day
Every morning, one of the first things
I do after crawling out of bed and forcing my eyes to an open
position is go on-line and read my favorite comics. In the evenings,
my kids like to gather around the computer from time to time to
watch cartoons. Both are drawn by cartoonists and I think most of us
enjoy some sort of cartoon or comic at sometime or another as they
are often designed to make us laugh and feel good. Let's be thankful
for these people.

Mother Goose Day
Today is Mother Goose Day. When we
think of Mother Goose we usually think of collections of fairy tales
and nursery rhymes. Sometimes Mother goose is an elderly lady and
sometimes a goose in a bonnet. Our kids have all enjoyed fairy tales
and nursery rhymes. Our oldest got a book when she was little that
was full of nursery rhymes and we recently replaced the book and now
our youngest thoroughly enjoys it. Today let's be thankful for
nursery rhymes.
