National Carmel Apple Day


     Today is National Carmel Apple Day. I don't think I'll be eating one though I usually don't see apples wrapped in carmel at our house but when this treat is had it is taking slices of apple and dipping it in carmel. What a great treat. Today, take time to be thankful for carmel apples.

National Candy Corn Day


     While I do not eat them often I like eating them. They are candy corns and today is national candy corn day. It is usually in the fall that I have some laying around the house to eat or use for bribery with little kids. Sometimes I have them in the spring in pastel colors as well. Today let's be thankful for such a sweet treat.

     Today is National Chocolates Day. I know many people like / love chocolates whether they be solid dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or filled chocolate with a variety of creams or nuggets.      I have one and I have had her for almost 21 years – no, not my wife but my Mother-in-Law. A lot of people like to joke about and criticize mother-in-laws but I would rather appreciate them and be thankful for them. Today is Mother-in-Law Day and without mine, I wouldn't have my wonderful wife :) So Today I'll be thankful for my Mother-in-Law. If you have one, go ahead and be thankful for her as well.

     Today is Bridge Day. I suppose some people may think of a card game when they think of bridge but most of us will think of something suspended in the air connecting to points. Some bridges are rather small, like the ones the kids make with Legos in the living room. Others are miles long. I have traveled over many bridges and yes, I'm thankful they are there.      Today is National Cake Decorating Day. This reminds me of my childhood when for our birthdays we we get a specially made cake by our grandmother that was decorated up fancy. Rockets, race cars, bunnies, boats.... It seemed that whatever we wanted she could do. It can be fun to decorate a cake and it fun to eat one that has been. National Pierogi Day


     Today is National Pierogi Day. What I've learned is Pierogi are dumplings of unleavened dough – first boiled, then they are baked or fried usually in butter with onions – traditionally stuffed with potato filling, sauerkraut, ground meat, cheese, or fruit. I can't say that I have ever had one but for those of you who have, today is a day to be thankful for them.

Look at the Leaves Day


     Today is Look at the Leaves Day. It is the time of the year when the leaves turn color before falling to the ground to be raked into piles to be jumped in. I have been able to get several beautiful pictures this time of the year from the leaves turning colors. On a recent trip I had wished I had brought a camera for some more but even though I didn't I was able to enjoy the color of the leaves. Let's be thankful for leaves today.
