Ephesians 2:19-20 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, (ESV)
Jesus is a cornerstone. A cornerstone is the important first stone upon which a foundation is laid for the building of a house. If the cornerstone is not perfect the foundation will not be either. As a cornerstone for the foundation of our lives He will never fail but if we choose another, no matter how hard we try we'll always fail in the end.
