Lamb

John 1:35-36 Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus as He walked, and said*, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" (NAS) Yesterday I talked of Jesus as the Great Shepherd, today I'll think of Him as the Lamb of God. No, He's not likened to a sheep because He's dumb but because He is the sacrifice for our sins.

Hebrews 9:22 says that according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. (NAS) When you read through the O.T. You find that the lamb is one of the most sacrificed animals and is mentioned as the animal needed to be sacrificed for an atonement of ones sins, but it had to be done time and time again. With Jesus as the ultimate lamb, no more sacrifices need be made.

      Dear Lord, Thank you
  • For making Jesus the ultimate sacrificial lamb.
