State Parks

Today, in Minnesota, the state parks are having an open house and one can vist without the need of a vehicle permit. Every year are family tries to make it to one of our local state parks to enjoy canoeing, picnicking, special events and of course the beach. At other times we will even enjoy camping at a state park some where in Northern Minnesota.

Many of the state parks, along with providing a place for outdoor activities, help to preserve various geological features such as Mystery Cave and Itasca, landmarks such as the Sudan under ground mine and Fort Snelling.

Many of the 72 different parks have special programs for kids and adults to help us learn about nature, the plants, the birds, the animals, etc.

If you haven't done so yet, grab some bug spray, a camera and head out to a state park and enjoy God's great outdoors.

      Dear Lord, Thank you
  • For the state parks
